Once a drain has been camera-inspected and the problem is on the screen in front of you, the decision about what to do next becomes a lot easier. You can see the crack, the root mass or the section that has dropped, and you can weigh a repair against the cost of clearing it again every year.
Depending on what the camera finds and where the damage sits, the fix might be a spot repair on one section, relining the pipe from the inside without digging up your yard, or replacing a length of line entirely.
I also do CCTV inspections for pre-purchase checks. If you are buying an older place in the west, an hour with a drain camera is cheap compared to discovering a collapsed sewer line after settlement.

Common questions
Do you have to dig up my yard?
Not always. Where the pipe is structurally sound enough, relining rebuilds it from the inside with no excavation. Where a section has fully collapsed, or the fall on the line is wrong, it has to be dug up and replaced properly — relining a pipe that has dropped just gives you a smooth pipe with the same bad fall.
Can I see the camera footage?
Yes, and you should. You watch it on the screen with me on the day, and you get a copy. Any plumber who will not show you the footage is asking you to take an expensive repair on trust.
