Tap Set Plumbing (the business) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information is collected when you use this website or engage me for plumbing work, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What is collected

When you contact me through this site or by phone, I may collect:

Your name
Your phone number and, if you give it, your email address
The suburb and address where the work is to be carried out
Details of the plumbing problem or work you are enquiring about
Any photos or documents you choose to send me

I do not collect payment card details through this website. Payment is arranged directly with you at the time of the job.

How it is used

Your information is used only to:

Reply to your enquiry and provide a quote
Arrange, carry out and invoice the work
Issue compliance certificates and any warranty documentation
Contact you about the job, including to reschedule
Meet record-keeping obligations that apply to licensed plumbing work

I do not sell your information, and I do not add you to a marketing list unless you have asked me to.

Who it is shared with

Your details stay with me except where sharing is necessary to do the job or is required by law. That can include:

Suppliers or specialist subcontractors engaged for part of your job, who receive only what they need to do their part
Water authorities and regulators, where a compliance certificate or a backflow/TMV test result must be lodged
Your insurer, real estate agent or property manager — only where you have asked me to deal with them on your behalf
My accountant or bookkeeper, for invoicing and tax records
Law enforcement or a regulator where I am legally required to disclose

This website

This site is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard server logs, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the site. Their handling of that data is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which involves a request to Google's servers when the page loads.

If website analytics are enabled, they are used only to understand which pages are useful and how people find the site — never to identify you personally. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own.

How it is stored

Enquiries are delivered to my email and stored there and on my phone. Job records and invoices are kept in my business records. Reasonable steps are taken to protect that information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including device passcodes and reputable service providers.

Records relating to completed plumbing work are kept for as long as required for warranty, insurance and tax purposes — generally at least seven years — and are then deleted or destroyed.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where I am not required to keep it. Ring 0434 332 619 and I will sort it out.

Complaints

If you think your privacy has been mishandled, contact me first — most things are cleared up quickly with a phone call. If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the date it was last changed shown at the top.
