About

I'm Jeff — the plumber you'll actually meet

Licensed & qualified plumber, 15+ years in the trade, and based right here in Caroline Springs.

Tap Set Plumbing is a one-plumber business, and that is deliberate. Over 15 years in the trade I have seen how the bigger outfits work — a call centre takes the booking, a different tradesperson turns up each time, and nobody carries the job from the first phone call through to the invoice.

I would rather do it the other way around. You ring the mobile and you get me. I look at the job, I quote it, I do the work, and if something is not right afterwards you ring the same number and I come back. There is nobody to be passed along to.

What I work on

All types of plumbing. Fifteen-plus years across residential, commercial and new construction covers a lot of ground: blocked drains and camera work, hot water systems, burst and leaking pipes, gas fitting, roof plumbing and gutters, leak detection, bathroom and kitchen renovations, and full plumbing packages for new homes and extensions.

That breadth matters more than it sounds. A blocked drain is often a symptom of something structural, and a hot water failure is sometimes a gas or electrical problem wearing a plumbing costume. Having worked across all of it means I diagnose the actual cause on the first visit rather than treating the symptom and coming back in six months.

Why Caroline Springs

I am based here, which is the whole reason a same-day call-out is a realistic offer rather than a line on a website. When a pipe lets go, the gap between the phone call and someone standing at your meter is the difference between a repair and a claim on your insurance.

Working the same patch year after year also means I know the housing stock. The older Brimbank suburbs still have clay sewer lines that street trees find their way into. The newer estates out through the growth corridor are slab-on-ground on reactive clay, which moves with the seasons and puts real strain on buried pipework. Knowing what I am likely to be walking into saves time on the day, and time is what you are paying for.

The paperwork

I am a licensed and qualified plumber and I carry insurance. Any work that requires a compliance certificate gets one, and you keep it — you will want it for your insurer, and for the buyer when you sell the property.

Ask any tradesperson for their licence details before they start. Anyone legitimate will hand them over without a second thought, and anyone who will not has told you what you needed to know.

What you can expect

Four things I will always do

  • You get me on the phone

Not a receptionist, not an overflow call centre in another state. The person you speak to is the person who turns up and does the work.

  • A price before I start

You will know what the job costs before I pick up a tool. If what I find changes the scope, we talk about it then — not when the invoice lands.

  • I turn up when I said

A real time slot, not a vague window that costs you a day off work. If something runs over, you get a message before you have to wonder.

  • Done properly, and guaranteed

Work to standard, compliance certificates where they are required, and my workmanship guaranteed. If something is not right, you ring me and I come back.
